Lansdowne Lecture - Dr. Suzie Sheehy, “Lessons from Curiosity-Driven Physics Research”

In this talk, accelerator physicist and author Suzie Sheehy will share her key lessons from over 100 years of curiosity-driven experiments to understand the microscopic. From the serendipitous discovery of X-rays in a German laboratory, to the scientists trying to prove Einstein wrong about quantum mechanics (and inadvertently proving him right), to the race to split the atom: physicists have shaped innumerable aspects of how we live today.
