Our Committee Positions

President

  • Oversee and guide the group at large, ensuring a clear vision that aligns with the mission; and supporting all Directors in their initiatives

  • Prioritize the clubs successful, sustainable, efficient, and innovative growth and longevity

Vice President

  • Support the President in overseeing the group at large and supporting the Directors, and manage all general members

Administration

  • Manage planning and execution of all events

  • Ensure all events integrate the club’s mission within the community or celebrate the club members

Events Committee

Symposium Committee

  • Coordinate and facilitate the annual UVic WIS Research Symposium including:

    • Funding

    • Marketing

    • Organizing speakers and poster session

    • Food/Catering

Communications Committee

  • Manage social media including Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Create and distribute monthly newsletter including an interview with a UVic WIS member, scientist, or community member

  • Ensure consistent branding throughout the club resources

  • Manage merchandise design and orders

Finance Committee

  • Help acquire grants and funding

  • Ensure the budget is being allocated and spent sustainably

  • Help coordinate and facilitate fundraisers

  • Manage content regarding PMP initiatives for social media platforms

  • Coordinate PMP mentors and mentees

  • Oversee PMP professional development events

Peer Mentorship Program (PMP) Committee

  • Ensure the committees maintains ethical and integral conduct

  • In charge of onboarding and offboarding

  • Maintains club records
